delegates to EdRising National Conference

It’s good to be back in BSSD after a great summer and excited to face a new school year.

Last June 24-27, ten (10) courageous students from BSSD qualified for the Educators Rising National Conference and Competition held at the Hilton Hotel in Washington DC.

The students were accompanied by me as Teacher Leader of Stebbins School and fellow Teacher Leaders Giaana Peterson (Unalakleet School) and Rose Ann Viray (Wales School). Wence Cama (formerly of Gambell and now in Elim) also joined us as the male chaperone.

There were 20 students from Alaska who made it to the Semi-finals and the Top 3.

And I am proud to share that TWO of our students made it to the TOP 3 and THREE made it to the Semi-Finals (Top 10).
