Bering Strait School District is now creating a candidate pool, and interviewing candidates for the 2010-11 school year, and our tenative list of Job Fair visits for the new recruiting season is being updated. Our job listings for next year will be posted shortly. The BSSD Personnel Office is located in the district office building in Unalakleet. Our staff handles all types of employment inquiries, schedules interviews for candidates, coordinates job fair and other recruiting efforts, helps with teacher certification paperwork, and manages all district employee relations. The Bering Strait School District is always looking for highly qualified applicants for current and future openings. The District has over 185 certified teachers, 15 school principals, several district office administrators and specialists, as well as several hundred classified support team members
Each year there is a certain amount of teacher turnover in the district, but administrative openings are less common. Our hiring cycle peaks between January and March, and we like to have most positions for the following school year filled by April.
